Hemscott Company Guru is a database of business information, “the companies, people and news that drive the UK stockmarket.” It allows you to view company fundamentals, including charts, ratios, latest news and director biographies.

There’s a new link on the Databases A-Z which will route off-campus users through the proxy server.
Eighteenth Century Collections Online is available now. You’ll find a link on the Databases A-Z.
It’s a huge database of 138,000 digitised titles published between 1701 and 1800 in England. When complete, it’ll give us every significant English language and foriegn language title printed in the UK during the eighteenth century.
We now have access to the pilot version of NewsFilm Online.
It gives us over 3,000 hours of downloadable television news and cinema newsreels, selected from the ITN/Reuters Television archives.
The site is officially launched on the 3rd October.
Several resources which were previously only available on campus, are now available off-campus too – thanks to our new proxy server from EZProxy.
The proxy links are on the Databases A-Z page. Off-campus users will see a University login box when they click on a link. They just need to put in their University login details, and they’ll get through to the service.
On campus users will go straight through.

The following services are experiencing problems relating to access via the OpenAthens gateway:
Archival Sound Recordings – showing as Not Authorised.
Census Registration Service – Need to re-register.
Digimap – showing as Not Subscribed.
Education Image Gallery – Login through direct access on-campus/No permission off-campus.
ESDS International – Need to re-register.
Film and Sound Online – Login through direct access on-campus/No permission off-campus.
Landmap and Infoterra – Need to re-register.
Eduserv and the suppliers are working on a resolution.
UPDATE – authentication now working for these databases.
